Connecting 720p TV to Computer

Do 720p TVs look as good as monitors when connected to a PC? It seems like a 32" TV would be a good option for people with poor eyesight due to the lower native resolution(1366x768) and large size.

They won't be anywhere near as sharp and clear as a monitor.

But for TV and movies at a decent viewing distance, it would work fine.. browsing the web would be do-able, since you could just increase the overall font sizes.. but still nowhere near the clarity of a monitor. Tasks like working in an Excel spreadsheet for example, would be a nightmare.
