Hi!

I would like to know if I can Connect 2 PC via an ordinary USB cable (obviusely with the right connectors on both ends) or is there a problem because of the electricity (meant for external devices supply)?

Thanx for answers!

what do you mean ordinary usb cable, they have special cables used for networking pcs via usb, but usb technology is limited to 12 megabits/second, in comparison to 100 megabits/second for a network card on a lan using a crossover cable or a hub/switch. so, keep this in mind when u think about using a usb direct connect cable instead of a traditional lan. good luck.

Thank you for advice,

I mean a cable with two connectors and no special hardware in between (all those cables sold in packages seem to have something extra on them). The speed is a problem, but I only need this connection to work for Norton Ghost (to make a HDD image), because TCP/IP doesn't seem to be working (error code 34004 or something).

So, all I would like to know is: If I connect 2 PC-s via an ordinary USB, will something go to oblivion or not?

Best regards!
