ok so basicially what im trying to do it connect 1 router to another router to give me more ports, im doing thisi because where the cample comes into the house and where the modem is, is 3 floors away wrom where i need it, so instead of running cables all over the floor, we hav a line through the wall, running from the router downstairs, from the uplink port as indicitated on the router

we ave that then running into a couter upstairs, running into the WAN port on the router, the router lights up fine says its connected and such, however the internet doest work up here, unless you plug directly into the wall,

i cant even dial into the router up here when both are connected,

now im assumeing that there is some comflict between the routers and such

both are linksys BEFSR41 routers w/ 4 port switch, band new

somepne please help me out

You turned off Dhcp one the secondary router correct? Make sure the primary one is configured as "gateway" as it's the gateway. Make sure the primary one is the dhcp server and the secondary one is on a dynamic ip not static as you are getting the ip from the router. Try it again.

ok so i got this all working basicially it works fine, but every 12 hours or so it stope working, IE i will be dissconnected and then reconnedted every 5 min or so, and its extreamly annoying, especially when trying to play any online games

if i go and reset both routers to default and then go through teh process all over again it works for another 12 hours or so and then it happens all over again

any idea WTF this is all about

When you said its not working, are computers connected to both router 1 and router 2 not working, or just computers connected to router 2 is not working. if router 2 computers is not working, most likely the lease for the IP have expired, check the router settings to see if it can send signals to the router and maintain the IP address.
