Anyone remember the Windsor Locks Tornado that happened 24 years ago today? October 3, 1979, a day I'll never forget, even though I was only in 3rd grade.

I was a little older 🙂 but I remember, I was about two miles away from there. Hell of a storm as I recall. Tossed the planes around at the Bradley Air Museum like they were a bunch of toys.

Part of my elementary school was demolished, but lucky for us, it was a Wednesday, and we always had 1/2 days on Wednesdays so we got out at 1:30pm, the tornado struck at 2:57pm, which, had it been any other day, 3:00 was our dismissal time, so it would have been catastrophic with a school full of kids, who knows, I may not even be here right now. Strange how things turn out.

meh.. that's only at the veterans home. I mow the lawn across the street from there at the State of Connecticut Sign lab. Maybe the lawn across the street will be flooded so I won't have to go to work tomorrow!
