By 2017, $10.10, will be worth around $7.25, in 2014 dollars... move along... move along.

Yeah if they pegged the minimum wage to inflation when they raised it in the 70's it would probably be between 10 and 15 dollars.

Whether that is good or bad depends on the economic school of thought you subscribe to I guess.

Actually, it would be around $21, but let the OP continue his little tantrum.

And they did it without the Federal government. So I wonder why the big push for. Federal minimum wage increase.... Oh yeh.... A lot of union contracts are tied to the minimum wage.

Yep, it's a state issue. Unsure why CT wants to pay their teenagers premium wages to work the deep fryer but if they think it's a good idea it's no skin off my back. Ditto if they think the benefit of higher wages for those remaining employed exceed the negative of pricing the lowest skilled workers out of the job market. At some point you'd think a smart progressive state would use better methods: dual-track wage systems (teenager vs. adult breadwinner) and minimum wage tied to tenure to allow those on the bottom rung a chance to get their foot in the door and still increase their wages as they demonstrate their skills.
