Tried everything I can think of more than once. It's a pretty fresh install of XP on a laptop that was connected the same way and the network worked fine. The HD died a little while ago, I installed a new ND, installed XP just like I did before, named the Workgroup just like it is for the other computers, but none of the computers see this computer and it doesn't see any of the other computers. I've run the network setup wizard several times. I get asked to pick one of the following (radio buttons, i.e. accept one):

1. This computer connects directly to the Internet. The other Computers on my network connect to the Internet through this computer.

2. This computer connects to the Internet through a residential gateway or through another computer on my network.

3. Other

I figure I should pick 2 because it's connected to a wireless router (by ethernet). Two of my other computers are connected wirelessly, one other by ethernet.

Every time I run this it wants to name my workgroup MSHOME and I change it to the name that my other computers use for the workgroup, which is WORKGROUP.

Then it asks me if I want to turn on file and printer sharing or turn it off and I go turn it on. The next screen indicates I'm connecting through another device or computer, then it says please wait a few seconds and then it wants me to create a network setup disk, something I've never seen before and I opt to "Just finish the wizard. I don't need to run the wizard on other computers." I click Next and then Finish and nothing happens. I'd expect it to say I have to restart (because I changed the default name of the workgroup). Nothing has changed, it can't see my other computers, they can't see it. When I click Workgroup I get an hourglass for a long time, over a minute and it turns up nothing.

Well, I just did this and it sees the other ethernet connected computer but it doesn't see the wirelessly connected computers. Why? What can I do/try?

I think my problems here may stem from the fact that the laptop is a Lenovo Thinkpad T60 and it has the Symantec Client Security Solution installed. It's part of the default XP Pro factory installation. I removed CSS on my other T60, maybe I'll have to do it with this one too.
