most likely the ones that were returned because they didn't unlock. still a very capable 12 pipe card.

nice thing is they tend to overclock like crazy - 550-600 on the core (mine does 620/575) which nets 6500 3dmark05 - very fast for a $120 card, goes toe to toe with an overclocked 6800GS. faster than lots of cards that go for $200+.

Ive been looking at this card as well.

Not sure to wait until next generation comes out, or get a 6600GT.

Wowo. Nice.

Telling my friend about this one. Even at stock they're great. :).

Definately destroys the 6600GT.

There has been a lot of X800GTO's of various brands at Newegg refurb for $120. I picked up a Sapphire Ultimate that clocks to 600MHz core!!! I also picked up a normal Sapphire unit for $100 shipped!!! That one only did 509MHz core.

Well, the Connect3D may or may not be unlockable. The Sapphire Ultra may or may not OC like a bat outta hell. Really it's luck of the draw, but if you want a quiet solution then get the Sapphire since it uses heatsinks on both sides (backside not touching) with three heatpipes from front to back, and a quiet fan in the back. Sapphire's web site still shows no fan on it, which is a lie. Still, the fan on mine was extremely quiet. This was the first video card in a while (6600GT, 6800LE, 6800GT, Connect3D X800GTO) that I didn't have to slap an aftermarket cooler on to make it quiet.

Thanks for the info. The price went down like $35 in the past week so I might wait another week or so. Not in a hurry.

That doesnt bother me as long as it works. Unless it is worth the extra $30 for the cables etc that I probably will never use.

YMMV on these cards. The two Sapphire cards I got as refurbed were basically brand new in the box with all accessories. One overclocked to 600MHz core, 580 memory and the other only hit about 509MHz core and 562MHz memory.

It is possible to get ones that are just bare cards and/or don't work properly.
