Hi
I have recently noticed that a X800 XL Connect3D is on sale for $249. This is 20 dollars or so cheaper than the next cheapest model is $280. Is Connect3d reliable? Thanks!

I've heard mixed reviews about them. Whats the 280 dollar model? And I think they've got Powercolors (which is a more reliable brand) going for about 260 bucks...

I heard nothing but great things about them. The people at Monarch Computer actually recommend them over Sapphire.

Connect3D makes quality cards based on ATI reference design. The bundle is simple: just the card and a driver cd (and some cables). For me the only problem was the stock HSF (ATI reference design), which was loud and did a poor job (I dont think the rest of the reference HSFs are that much better either), but other than that it has been working great.

I bought the Connect3D card, because it was the cheapest one to get. Install an aftermarket cooler with the money you save (If the stock cooling doesn't satisfy you), and it will work great.

I've been very happy with mine--no problems, runs great, and I paid $249 for mine as well (monarch, I assume, is running the same deal again). They're mainly a European firm, from the look of their website.

Connect3D is an ATI Certified Partner which you can find listed as Connect Components Ltd.. They are better known in Europe than the USA. I had a Connect3D 9500 and it was virtually the same as an ATI 9500. I would not hesitate to buy their products.
