I've used Direct Cable Connection for file sharing. However, it's too slow. Beside, I have all of the networking components,10Mbps hub, 10/100 NICs, 10Mbps PCMCIA,and Cat 5 cables. I want to use them and I am a greenhorn on networking.
My work laptop to set up to connect to a domain at work. It seems that I need to upgrade my home PC to Win2K Server and set up a Domain Controller so that I can connect my work laptop to it. I don't have admin rights on my work laptop. Can I set up my laptop to connect to join a new domain?
Alternatively, can I use a cross-over cable to connect the two Win2K Pro machines? If yes, please tell me how.
I understand there is also a USB option. However, I think it only go up to 7Mbps. If I can set up the 10Mbps hub, I will upgradethe hub and PCMCIA to 10/100.
Thanks in advance.
