Connect to VPN using wireless while using wired LAN for surfing?

I'm sitting at a college library that has two ways of connecting to the internet. Wireless which originates in another building but I get an awesome signal, and a wired ethernet port in the desk.

When I connect to my server at work through the VPN websurfing is extremely slow which is to be expected. Is it possible to use one of the two connections for the VPN and the other one just for web surfing?

We have a Sonicwall Firewall/VPN running at the office and I am currently using the SonicWall Global VPN client to establish the connection, is there a way to configure the client to look at either the LAN or Wireless exclusively for a connection?

I guess you could, it would depend on what VPN client you are using and how their policy is setup.

For example - best practices dictate that if you are running a VPN client, then you shouldn't be talking to anything but the VPN concentrator to prevent "back door" connectivity...which is kind of what you would be exposing the company net to.

you could try to mess with the routing table on the PC, but then again the administrator could have set it up securely. I'd try asking them, because without really understanding how the VPN policy/routing is concerned it would be tough to assist you.
