I am assisting a friend with an older 486DX2 computer. Although slow it runs pretty good, and does what he wants. So with computer that has a modem he wanted to tryout the internet. But when it connects he gets the illegal operation has been performed. RNAPP.exe has caused an illegal operation and must be shutdown. Then once you click on the ok, you get another illegal operation has been peformed by DIALMON.exe. I have not a clue what these are and my friend does not have any software for the modem. He is running win 95. The exploer version is 3.0, if he upgraded to 4.0 or even the latest would that help?
Any assistance/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My friend just wants to see what he can do before investing into a newer system.
