Look for HDFury adapter, should be on monoprice.com, you'll also need a HDMI -> DVI cable too.

Yes, however VGA input requires RGB input. Component is usually used to transmit YPbPr. The PS3 will output RGB over component but iirc the resolution is limited to sub-HD. Also the RGB signal uses sync on green (VGA has pins for horizontal and vertical sync separate from the RGB signal) so unless your monitor supports sync on green the colors will be all screwed up.
By far your best bet is to buy an HDMI switch and two HDMI-DVI cables (and one HDMI cable for your PS3), hook up both your PC and your PS3 to the switch and send the switch to your monitor. The PS3 allows you to send audio over the red/white RCA plugs on the A/V cable even if you're using HDMI for video.

so just to make sure- get a hdmi switch, connect a dvi to hdmi from the monitor to the switch's out port, connect pc to one of the hdmi in, and the ps3 to the other? i will still be able to use the pc's 3.5 mm green audio jack for pc audio right? and for the ps3's audio, i would use the av multi out just for audio?
