Connect D-Link 624 and 2000AP, driving me nuts!

disclaimer : I understand that D-Link does not support the 2000AP talking to anything besides another 2000AP, however I've read from many people that it will talk to the 624, even with the current firmware.

This is my setup:

Running D-Link DI-624 as main router with personal computers wired to it, and my laptop on a DWL-G650. Everything works fine.

I then bought a 2000AP to use upstairs as a wireless client/bridge, to then attach a Packet8 DTA-310 phone to it, without running any ethernet from the office upstairs. And yes, this is the onlyway/wirelessly, and I want the actual DTA-310 wireless, so no wireless phones with extra handset ideas.

The problem is, everything sounds the same to me, Wireless Client, Wireless Bridge, I'm not sure exactly how to set this up.

The options in the 2000AP are:

Access Point
Wireless Client - input SSID
Wireless Bridge - input remote AP
Multi-Point Bridge

If I set it up as a Wireless Client, I can then see it connected as as client under the 624, and for a little bit I got a computer to work off of it, through a hub connected to the 2000AP.
If I set it up as a Wireless Bridge, I get no response on the 624 end.

Also, i read that I need to disable WEP, which I did, also some people said enable G-Only mode, but that seems to not help any.

So please, someone, tell me EXACTLY what I need to do.

Example:

setup 624 with no encryption, go through exactly what the 'performance' settings should be.
setup 2000AP as blah, then using a NON-crossover connect it to the uplink/or not port of a HUB, and then connect the Packet8 phone to the Hub on any port.

Something along those details. Thanks so much, if it takes you forever to write a perfect guide, and it works, send me a Private Message.

Alright, as a Client both see each other. But can I connect the Packet8 box directly to the 2000AP through a regular network cable, or do I need to go crossover or through a HUB?

edit:
After reading through your link, does it mean I need a Independent Bridge to get this noncomputer device to work?

Mode 5 - Independent Bridges. These are units that are actually Wireless clients Independent of Drivers. As a result they can be connected to a device that supports Wireless but it is not a regular computer. They can turn Ethernet equipped Printers and Game Boxes into 802.11b Wireless compatible devices. (Linksys WET11, D-Link DWL-810).

I'm intersted in this since i am also going nuts with this exact setup. I need to use the 2000AP as a Client in order to set up a switch with a PC and a ReplayTV downstairs. It's on and off all the time when trying to set this up. D-Link SAYS it's supported and should work on the Phone support but literature says the 2000AP can only be a client to another 2000AP. I have the newest versions of the 2000AP and the 624, but no luck setting this up. I thought I needed a crossover cable when attaching this to the device directly...used my laptop to try setting this up and just patched the 2000AP to my laptop via crossover cable.
