I bet none of those whiners cared if their cheap produce was planted and picked by illegal labor. They are the ones paying to bring these illegals here. Maybe they should start a certification program, instead of "Organically Grown", it will be "Redneck Grown". :D

I spoke with a legal Mexican immigrant a few years ago. He had been here for a long time. He does contract work for a remodeling company. Years ago, he had his own crew working for new home builders, until the influx of illegal labor drove him out. He was being underbid by half of his usual fee. He called them all sorts of nasty names, and wanted a secure border. Yep, there is a reason the labor market is called a market.

Yes, these people are not here on vacation, they are here to make some money, which ultimately comes from the grocery buying consumers.
Currently consumers demand their groceries as cheap as possible, not "American picked," they are speaking much louder with their wallets than they are with their ballots.

Or instead of keeping the prices artificially deflated they could of allowed it to inflate like everything else then maybe we would of came up with a way to mechanize most of it or change our eating habits. Blaming the end consumer for this is straight retarded. The farmers are to blame for hiring them and the government is to blame for doing nothing about it and subsidizing the farmers. If you were talking about people who were getting their houses remodeled and actually had a direct affect the hiring then sure your argument would work.

This is true. It's also true that people who have nice things are responsible for burglaries, and that women who wear short skirts asked to be raped. Let's not forget the little kids who get shot by drive-by's because they had the nerve to get in the way.

I do like how you blame anyone but the perps though. You are consistent.

You can pretend 98.9% of consumers even look at where the head of lettuce they just threw in their cart came from, but, in the end, they don't care.

They pick up produce, make sure it's not F'd up, and throw it in their cart.

If it's x cents cheaper, they don't care. If they do care, too bad.

Your logic is totally F'd up btw.

... if the raise of produce prices had gone up naturally like it should of it wouldn't even be a big fucking deal, but we've kept it artificially deflated for years by our government allowing farmers to hire illegals then subsidizing them. This has nothing to do with consumers and everything to do with people fucking around in shit they shouldn't have. Our government let that happen, not the consumer. Now like I said if you want to talk about the guy who hires the contractor he knows is going to go pick up 5 guys from Home Depot to remodel his house, I totally agree he is responsible.

Everyone should post/send this video in as many places as they can. If people don't know what traitorous assholes our elected representatives are, then the apathy will continue.

The real trick of it is to reform the system without putting the producers out of business. It's all well and good to say "let them hang", however once a farm is sold to a strip mall developer there is no getting it back. In that case we have more than wage inflation- we have supply issues.

Immigration in itself is relatively easy compared to that rat's nest.
