Now that Carmello Anthony has a NCAA Title in his resume, and IF he decides to enter the draft, will this increase his chances going for a #1 pick over Lebron James? Or will Lebron james still go #1? BTW how about some predicitons for the top five NBA draft picks.:D

It is unlikely Camelo Anthony will be the no. 1 draft pick. Most people still consider Lebron as a better player (especially with his passing skill), beside Lebron is more marketable than Camelo.

I may be bias, but Carmelo is far better right now. LeBron will get picked first because any GM that doesn't pick him will get beaten by that team's fans :) He does have potential but Carmelo is the best college basketball player while LeBron is the best high school player. Big difference in competition. I guess we'll find out in 3-5 years

if you guys had to pick a current NBA player, who's game do you think Anthony's is similar to?

I think he will go #2 or #3, and that is a shame.
He will be better out of the gates then James will be but the marketing and public bias favors James.
Hopefully the NBA teams see that Carmello has college experience and has played against more skilled players than James and can compete
on the professional level.

a lot of references to Paul Pierce and it's kinda true. I just think Carmelo could be something special. People will be modeling their games after him :)

6'8", strong, got some hops, a sick array of moves outside and inside, a sweet crossover dribble, can board like crazy....it just wasn't fair for those poor people that had to attempt to guard him

I think he is more like a bigger Michael Finley with good but not freak athleticism.

ah, nice comparison :) I can definitely see some Finley in his game. Just bigger like you said which offsets the little bit athleticism Finley probably has over him.

Good article from ESPN.

Anthony had seven assists in the first half, a career best for the player widely recognized as the best freshman in the country. And if he decides to turn pro now, he almost certainly would be a top-three pick in the NBA draft, perhaps even challenging high school hotshot LeBron James for the No. 1 slot.
