go Ming. I've always liked him, was sad to see his show go away from FoodTV. I saw Yan on tv yesterday, didn't understand a word he was saying.

I think I'll catch the rerun of this tomorrow night at 11pm (EST)

I wish they have Chen Kenichi as a challenger at some point. I want to see him own up Flay hot bean paste style.

They need to get either
Michio Kaku (A very well respected physicist)

Michio Kaku was my astronomy professor as City College of New York. He teaches one astronomy course along will all the big physics stuff he teaches. A very nice guy and is very enthusiastic is class. He does kinda looks like the chairman in the original Iron Chef. Now I'm imagining him with that fancy glove and biting that pepper or apple (whichever it was) in the intro.

yeah, he can't act and he can't pull off the funny overacting.

He was fairly entertaining in Brotherhood of the Wolf though.

But yes, he doesn't have the eccentricity and evil grin of Kaga.

Kaga reminds me of the characters in fighting games that organize the tournaments.

They need to get either
Michio Kaku (A very well respected physicist) or Doctor Klahn to be the chairman.

Lo Pan?!

I have not been able to get into Iron Chef America, just kind of annoying. Except for Alton Brown. Anyhow, I may have to find a torrent of this because I do love Ming Tsai and would love to see him own Bobby Flay. . . man I hate that guy.

I want alton brown to stop announcing and go in there and cook.

He's the perfect host for that show. Good Eats is the best show on the Food Network, imo.

Does anyone know who the host is? The Asian guy? What's his story? Where did he come from? Why is he the host?

yep i thought about that... if the show is up for it, i would think they would do that in the future, have him role up his sleeves and step up to the plate...

watching the rerun right now...I don't particularly like either of the chefs as they are a far distant Tier 2 to most of the other chefs they've had on the show...but for making $$$, I'm sure they're right up there.

I still want one of those ceramic knives that Ming Tsai uses 😛

yoda, those are the kyocera i believe... interesting and have been around awhile now, but not that sharp and you drop them, they can break, I think... cooksillustrated reviewed 1 model of them a while ago..

Mark Dacascos - kung fu guy (not HK, IIRC) but he's pretty damn good nonetheless. See Brotherhood of the Wolf if, for nothing else, his supreme ass kicking of everyone else.
Also I believe he was in "Crying Freeman."

wellesley, MA

I've been there three times and his food rocks. He really is a good chef and have seen him at the restaurant, he's a big guy. If you are ever around you should really go and enjoy an excellent dinner.

😀

yeah, he looks like a big dude on TV even.

I remember that guy taking over the role of the CROW after Brandon Lee died.

Apparently he's the nephew of Chairman Kaga as well.

It's precisely because people love to hate flay that I think he is a great choice for iron chef. It's the same logic as phil helmuth in various poker shows.

Good episode... just saw the rerun tonight. Ted Allen makes a good food taster, and they really should bring him in for more episodes. He could be one of the "regulars", like that fortune teller lady was on the original Japanese show!
