I am aware that Intel CPUs are quad-pumped, so a CPU with a 800MHz FSB actually is 200 Mhz (200x4). how does this relate to DDR RAM then, which multiplied by a factor of two.

My guess...
So if i were to run a C2D at 10x300; the CPU is running @ 3.0Ghz, the FSB is 1200 MHz, and the RAM is at 600 Mhz (assuming a 1:1 mem divider).

Am i correct?

I have been building AMD machines for the last 6 years and this change to Intel is confusing the sh!t out of me.

Yeah, I just bought the HP 4 gigs of 667 RAM from the Hot Deals section. It came last night and it was the not-so-hot-in-ocing version of the RMA that they were selling. I just wanted to know if pairing a q6600 would be advisable or how much of problem the memory would pose for me. according to test, this memory can do DDR860 @5.5.5.15; eh, i might have to play with the memory divider.
