Confusing Naming by Samsung

I was reading the Samsung 17" LCD roundup at X-bit labs and noticed that their 174T is my 173T and their 173T is something else. I know they're based in a different part of the world but why not let a 173T be a 173T throughout the whole world instead of mixing it up?

My Canadian 173T has been the same as all the US (I'm guessing) reviews I've read. Strange, but true.
