Preparing to build a new PC.I have been researching this for a while and decided on an ASUS A8N SLI Deluxe MoBo...It seems to be recommended on most sites and mag's I have seen as stable and a top s939 motherboard.
I also see it recommended as a build in the guides on this site. Now I see this post when trying to decide on a video card.:
" You'll notice that we deliberately did not weigh SLI very high in this week's high end pick. With issues on nForce4 starting to surface, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense right now to throw all of your eggs into the SLI basket. Tumwater SLI support seems fine - but if you are an enthusiast willing to spend thousands of dollars on a high end workstation, you probably aren't running an Intel based system anyway. SLI is a nice, possible upgrade bonus if you already intend to purchase a 6600GT or a 6800GT, but we don't recommend investing in an SLI setup until some of the more mature motherboards and chipsets hit the retail market."
That came from the February card roundup.....
Yet there is no mention of these seemingly Fatal problems...
What are they and if you have any recommendations,Please post them.......
Thanks folks

The problem is its just not worth it to go SLI unless you can afford $1000 in graphics cards right off the bat.

Other than that I haven't heard of any real problems with it. But the Nforce4 chipset drivers are very new, there are problems with it at the moment.

I personally would avoid SLI unless you are doing some serious graphic rendering etc. One, they exceptionally expensive to put together, two, for the most part there isn't much programmed for SLI, three, most games or systems are CPU bound. In other words your graphics card isn't the part that is slowing down gaming, etc. ASUS just put on the market their PCI-X version of their 939 mobo's. That one looks like a winner. However, you might have to wait a bit for it, because most of the dealers selling it are out of stock.

I was taking in the info from the guides on this site.I have been shopping at Monarch,Newegg, and ZZfly and there seems to be around a $50 difference in the boards at most. Most times it runs around $169 for ASUS Sli deluxe and $145 for the ASUS A8V-E MoBo.($20 aint much)If in fact it is the better board. The only thing I do on this is gaming.
Thanks for the QUICK replies people.I'll let ya know how it turns out...........
