what is IEEE 1394? the new computer i just got says its got IEEE 1394 support on the USB outputs. but the usb looks the same. huh?

IEEE 1394 comes in two flavors, 4-pin and 6-pin. I don;t know what the 400 and 800 numbers represent. :frown:

It isnt a usb connector. Look closer. Unless you hooked the usb thinger into firewire it does look different.
