The instructions I have say to remove the cam cover and disconnect the green wire coming from the coil to my points. OK, Done.
Then it says to hook up a test light to the place where the wire connects to the points and with the other wire from the test light, ground it out to the frame. OK, done.
Then it says the light will be on (its not). Rotate the engine until the light goes off and the flywheel should have a F mark on it that lines up with the crankcase mark. OK
Since the light is never on, does this assume that I should be using a powered test light? If not, where does the light get the power from, since I've disconnected the power from the coil to the points, and I'm grounding out the other side of the test light to the frame. What is going on here?
EDIT: The bike is turned on, the battery is fresh, and I have spark when I try to start it, but it wont even attempt to start and the plug is wet with fuel.
