Confused... Gamestop WTF?

Alright so, I bought I Refurbished PS3 (only way I could get a ps3 with BC unless I buy used) from Gamestop online yesterday.

Sames yesterday wasn't a business day I decided to check to see if my charge has shown up yet..

Well it did... but along with another charge from Gamestop...

My online record shows...

Purchase 04/26/09 GameStop.com/EBgames.c TX 489.69
Purchase 04/27/09 GameStop.com/EBgames.c TX 455.79

Gamestop shows...
Sub-Total: $439.98
Handling: $21.99
Tax: $27.72
Order Total: $489.69

Wait WTF?
Did they just charge me someone else order or am I missing something?

😕

*Update*
After emailing gamestop yesterday...
Got responses from Gamestop.
The extra charge is for the PS3 after tax. (429.99 + state tax).
The apparently will drop the charge after both items have been delivered
1 item is already here... now I'm waiting on my PS3.

Why don't you call your bank and gamestop and figure it out instead of wasting time on a computer forum on the internet full of strangers with no more information than you reveal and no power to fix anything anyway?

WHy are you asking US???? CALL GAMESTOP NOW!

And if gamestop can't help you, call your CC company and get that reversed.

Edit: And this is exactly why you should never ever ever use a debit card.

Or so we'd have you believe... :shiftyeyes;

I don't see where he mentioned debit card, but in their defense.

Debit user: But, but, it has a Visa logo and I have all the same protection!

Actually it is a debit card, and that statement you quoted it ignorant.... and no that is not the reason why I use it.

You paid almost $500 for an used PS3 when a new PS3 + PS2 is only $400?

Why buy two consoles when you can have one and save space? Especially what little space I have to place it.

Why didn't you use SAVER coupon code to get free shipping? Or is that only for games?

Wait what coupon?

No, I order it from home.
I'm dropping gamestop an email now.

why email? why not call? It's a hell of a lot faster to get a response and peace of mind.

ah, I guess you're another typical "scared to talk to people" kind of person.

Actually no, I'm quite a laid back person and willing to see if they catch their own mistake before the processing finishes and ships out.

And you don't have to buy any memory cards, ever. Not to mention not having to hassle with two sets of controllers.
Depending on which model it is, it might play SACDs as well 🙂

That is a really stupid answer. Why wait? Just call them, get it straightened out, save hassle/trouble for everyone and be done with it. What is the point in dragging it out and "hoping" they will fix it? Don't be scared to talk to a person dude.

Or the kind of person that has better things to do than sit on hold?

I would think that if I had a possible wrong charge of nearly $500, there wouldn't be anything else that would be considered "better to do".

How is is that stupid of an answer?
I mean the order is still in the processing phase, I figure they would notice this doesn't look like $900+ worth of stuff I'm packing. Let's double-check this.

It's a 60GB model so it does.

If it's still in the pre-authorization stage, I wouldn't have a problem letting it go for a couple days before I flip out on somebody.

Who said you needed to flip out on somebody? What's wrong with calling now and nipping it in the bud instead of "hoping" it'll get noticed/fixed? I'm not saying they won't catch it themselves, but why not spend just a little time to call them and get it done now? Why risk it?

It's stupid b/c you can do something about it now instead of risking it not being caught and you going through a lot more hassle later on down the road. You'll have to go through so much more trouble than if you had just spent a few minutes calling them and getting it taken care of right away. Sure it may clear and fix itself by the end, but honestly, why risk it when you can get it straightened out in a matter of minutes.
