Confused: Explorer's "My network places" does not dislply same files as Workgroup Connection display of files?

I have 2 computers in a LAN, and each can see each other and ICS.

I don't understand why i have to go thru : MY Network Places-->view workgroup cputers--> click on computer
in order to properly display the shared directory/files.

When i use Windows Explorer -->My network places, the shared directories are not listed unless I expand
-->Entire Wikndows network-->workgroup-->click on computer as above.

I renamed some of the directories and deleted the old names that would not go away, as they were duplicates. After that, non of the remaining sites were valid (gave me error like no permission or something like that due to name differences). I expected a relisting to appear with the corrected names.
Instead they don't appear except in the above workgroup list.

Any ideas how to fix this?

They will eventually go away. It's supposed to refresh every half-hour I think, but it may not until the computer is cold booted a couple of times and it has to redetect the network totally... As far as the "My Network Places". If you're tired of that, you can always map your shared drives or possible create a shortcut to them on your desktop... Just a thought. You can add a network place too and that'll save you time. ;)
