Recently bought a 2006 GMC Yukon SL whose tires and idler arm need replacing. According to the vehicle VIN, tires should be 245/75R16 but on the car are 3 Goodyear Wrangler SR-A 255/75R17 & 1 Sumitomo Encounter 265/70R17, all on genuine GM rims/hubs . The spare a Bridgestone Dueler A/T P265/75R16 on a different rim. As you can see, all different widths, rim size, etc. Since I have 4 good 17” rims I’d like to use them or I could buy 4 Kumho Road Venture AT 51 all season radials P245/75R16 SL 109T but then I’d have to buy 4 16” rims. I’m thinking the previous owner ordered the larger 17” rims, the Denali version of the Yukon however the spare is still 16” rim. I welcome your input.

17s are fine. you can fit and use safely about 10 different tire sizes on a yukon. i would run a 255 or 265 / 65 or 70 / 17 and match the spare to the outside diameter as close as you can get on the 16 in wheel.

i have had a few GM trucks and have had a few different tire sizes on them. the wheels are pretty interchangeable for the last 20 years or so also. i have early 2000s escalade wheels for my snow tires, 17s. and my current 2015 pickup came with 18s. same backspacing and lug patterns. my 09 pickup had interchangeable wheels, along with my dads 2012 pickup, his 03 suburban, their current denali and many other GM full size trucks/suvs.

Those seem fine. Ran them for a couple years on a Silverado. Probably cheaper to get them from America's Tire once you factor installation.

Free shipping with my Amazon account to New Jersey make them probably a best buy. My local Mavis Tire shop says they will price match Amazon. I need Mavis to replace the idler arm on my Yukon. Thank you

Can you do me a favor, and let me know what you think of Mavis? I live in Jersey too, but don't know anyone who has tried them.

I know the Mavis shop I use constantly has different guys working for them. Not a good sign. But their prices are reasonable. I've never used them for more than flats fixed previously. I'm in Ocean County, where are you?

Whatever you do, get all 4 of those tires to the same size. That's not good to have one taller than the rest, particularly if it's on the rear.
Since the 265 is a 70, they are probably pretty close, but you want them all the same size, especially if it has AWD and/or locking differential.

You know, you can find out exactly what the tire size the vehicle shipped with by looking at the tire placard on the driver's door/door frame. That'll show exactly what the front, rear, and spare tire sizes were when the truck shipped. If you're curious.
