I have this book, and basically this book is a collection of articles from various journals. When I cite material from this book, should I cite the book, or the original journal?

So like if I had Article X in Book, originally printed in Journal Y, do I cite the Book, or the Journal?

By the way I'm using endnotes.

Does anyone have a link to a website that shows this? Most of the ones I've found have been for bibliographies!

here's an APA --- link

what style are you supposed to use?

I would go with the book itself... since that is where you found it...

MLA (Modern Language Association) format is perhaps the standard that is used a lot throughout campuses in the US... you can check out their website www.mla.org and it should have a portion on citation... I have an MLA handbook here... what's your address, I'll send it over ;) (j/k)... I can PM you the format if you want, just send me a PM if you can't find it at the site. Good luck.
