Besides the retail version of Nero, there are apparently a couple of OEM versions that are floating around on various bargain websites for low prices. These versions appear crippled in various ways (no DVD burning, no MPEG support, or the like).

However, I recently saw this: http://www.softwareandstuff.com/SWW12252.html and wondered how it compared to the other OEM versions and retail version of Nero. Does this package basically have everything the retail version has?

/me confused ;)

From what I remember reading earlier, the OEM #3 is essentially the same as retail; there was 1 feature that retail includes that the OEM doesn't. I can't remember what that was offhand though; it wasn't anything too major. I'd say that it's safe to get counting you're also buying hardware with it.

I could be wrong on that part of it. All I remember is that the "Suite 1" package that most Internet resellers are selling for cheap is crippled in some way.

@aloser: Thanks for the info. I'll keep trying to dig up any information I can.

I've always found Nero leaps and bounds better than the alternatives....

anyway.....

it appears that the Suite 1, which I recently bought, doesn't support SVCD or DVD-Video. What the hell is the point of it then?? I can't burn DVD videos with it then?? Dammit! Now I gotta drop some more money on this Suite 3 then? Grrrr! :|

I got Nero with my last 2 LG DVD Writers, the first one being about 10 months ago and they both do DVD's, before that about 1.5 years ago I got a 4X LG DVD Writer when it first came out and it came with B's recorder Gold that also did DVD's.
