confused about the 2005FPW resolution...

ive read most the threads about the 2005fpw and the 2001fp, but i cant seem to find a definitive answer about how the resolution is handled on most video cards.

i have a radeon 9700 pro and it doesnt necessarily say it will support 1680x1050, but ive heard it does. will it still look good even if i cant get the exact resolution? im a little worried about it and im thinking i want to cancel to get the 2001fp mainly because of this resolution issue.

and no, this hasnt really been addressed specifically in other threads. it has been grazed over but never truly explained.

Er, yes, how to determine resolution support, that has been covered recently.

But anyway, as long as you're connecting DVI, the card will read the "preferred" resolution and timing from the display anyhow, and use exactly that then.
Any Radeon 9000 or higher can do 1680x1050 and even 1920x1200 perfectly fine.
