I just put an order in for the motherboard, but I'm a bit confused about what ram to get. It seems Corsair is the best memory to buy. I want to pick up 2 sticks of it to equal 512 mb. I plan to run at 400ddr

The Gigabyte website lists these as the approved memory:

Corsair CMX256A 3200C2 XMS3202 v1.1
Corsair CMX256A 3500C2 XMS3502 v.1.1

Newegg lists these available sets:

CORSAIR MEMORY XMS Extreme Memory Speed Series 256MB 32MX8 PC-3200C2 With Heat Spreader OEM
CORSAIR MEMORY XMS Extreme Memory Speed Series, Low Latency 256MB 32MX64 PC-3200LL With Heat Spreaders.
CORSAIR MEMORY XMS Extreme Memory Speed Series, Low Latency 256MB 32MX64 PC-3200LLPT With Platinum - Silver Heat Spreaders.
CORSAIR MEMORY XMS Extreme Memory Speed Series 256MB 32MX8 PC-3500C2 With Heat Spreader

Also I saw a twin pack: TwinX512 - 3200LL, would this be the better one? Does platinum help at all? Should I just go for 2 sticks of 3500?

Thanks,
Richard

hey... and welcome to the forums >>>

which ever mem you choose ( 3200 or 3500 ) just be sure its Low Latency...

the platinum doesnt matter...

i just snagged a gig of twinx from googlegear, its not "better" than getting 2 single sticks... they are just matched pairs, apparently tested at corsair, for your dual channel happiness :D...

hope that helps... keeps us posted on your progress
