Confused about DVI Dual Link

So looking for a new monitor and it says I have to have DVI-D Dual Link. Video card website (Asus) just says DVI-D. I am running two displays, one on the DVI and one on HDMI converted to DVI at the monitor end. How can I be sure this new display will work?

Its an Asus GTX650-E-2GD5

Some sources do list the port as DVI-D Dual Link such as this one - https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-video-card-gtx650e2gd5

How accurate that is, I don't know. The safest bet is to contact Asus support help desk and ask for clarification on the specs, or possibly check the manual if you have it.

I believe HDMI 1.3 is needed for HDMI to DVI-D-DL as it's the first spec that supports enough bandwidth, so you'll have to check what version of HDMI out that card does.

The Asus page does list 2560x1600 as the max res for DVI which suggests that it is DVI-D-DL primarily because this res is not possible at 60hz across regular DVI-D (although they could mean max is 2560x1600@30hz but that seems unlikely)
