Im a bit confused guys.. yesterday I ran my 8600k at 4.8 1.20v on prime95 blended for 7 hrs and no fails. So today I decided to up my ratio to 5.0 1.20v and currently coming on the 2hr mark on prime blend and still no fails.. wtf?? My max load currently is 80 but its main around 67-75. Is there something else I be testing it on?

8600k
Z370 Extreme4
Corsair Vengeance 16gb 3200mhz
1070 Evga Sc
750w Psu
Asus 120hz monitor
212 Cooler master

*then frequency hovers around 4.0-4.8*20181118_112137.jpg

Where do you get 1.2V@5GHz? I'm seeing 1.34V @4.5GHz.

Also, what's the point of this post beyond childish bragging?

Im not bragging, just wonder if I'm overclocking things currectly.. 1.20 is under power. As Im typing this. I test cinebench and it crashed on both 5.0 1.2 and 1.25v. But it it was success at 4.9 1.2 and 4.8 1.2.. which makes me wonder.

I think I see what Im doing wrong, I was adjusting the lond duration power limit, thinking that was the cpu voltage.

I was following this guys overclocking video and he set his cpu voltage to offset 50mv. Should I set it to fixed instead?

Sorry I haven't overclock in 5 years since my 3570k.

On my 8700k I always set mine to Fixed/"Static" as opposed to adaptive. That way I made sure -- as much as possible -- that I was not cooking my chip.

lol 5GHz at 1.2V would be golden sample, you'd be able to make good money selling a chip like that.
