Budget Build for an office:

New:

Biostar M7NCD Pro
Athlon XP 2200+
Geforce4 MX 64bit
Crucial 2 X 256 PC2700
pos CDROM

Old:

4 GB harddrive, just big enough for XP and WordPerfect
Floppy

I already loaded Windows XP, mobo drivers, wireless drivers, Norton, and WordPerfect on this once, and they used it for about a month, but the Epox mobo I put in was crapping out from the start, and sure enough eventually it wouldn't even load windows. Whole other issue.

So I replaced it with this Biostar. Now Windows installed, the mobo drivers installed, and it was fine. But now you can load anything you want, configure Windows anyway you want, but when you reboot, it goes right back to the point where it was just XP and the mobo drivers.

It's like it boots to a restore point, but it's not asking me where to boot from. Is this the harddrive?

Any ideas are much appreciated.

Thanks for the bump. I took the harddrive out of one of my backup boxes and everything is loading fine.

People ask me to upgrade their pc's a lot, and I have them buy a new mobo, processor, and ram, and then don't realize that they only have a 4 GB harddrive from 1993 or a 4X CDROM from 1990 that won't read today's media.

Gotta get better about that
