Conflicting reports on PCIE 2.0 and P35

I have searched through various fourms and websites and cannot come up with a definitive conclusion....

Does the P35 support PCIE 2.0 or not...

I just purchased the GA-P35-DQ6 and would like the peace of mind that the board will be future proof for the next gen video card

Regards

No GPU is going to overload current PCI-E x16 for another 2-3 years. By that time, your system will be too slow to run the most current games.

Yeah, when it becomes an issue it will be time for a new board anyway. No, P35 does not support PCIe 2.0. However, I believe that 2.0 cards will work in a 1.1 slot (just not with the theoretical higher bandwidth of course).

They're still making AGP cards that do pretty well (I think they're even moving the HD2600 and 8600 series to AGP, too), so I don't see regular PCIe being completely useless for a *very* long time.

Answer is: PCIe 2.0 supports PCIe 1.1 that P35 has, as Drexl said.

The chipset may be capable of PCI-E 2.0 operation, but no current boards implemented it so it's a moot point.
