Conflict (Black screen) with Via AGP driver, and Cat 3.1. Help?

Hello all. I'm brand new to this forum, and desperately need help. I recently installed a Tachyon G9700 Pro, and anytime I attempted to run 3DMark2001SE or 2003, I simply lock into Black screen and must hit "reset" to reboot.
I'm running Cat 3.1, DirectX 9.0, AGP 8X, Fast writes (tried on and off), WinXP with all updates.
Using an Epox 8K9A, 2400+ 12.5x166, and 15x133. PC3700 1GB, tried all different timings. To no avail. MBM-5, and Tyans software show VPU, memory, CPU, AGP voltages and temps to in great shape. I'm completely flaberghasted! When I uninstall the Via AGP ,30, ver1.7 or any Via AGP driver, I can run 3DMark and games, but scores are horrific, and artifacts, and tearing are prevelant. Especially in Nature Games for both 3DMark versions?
If anyone has any experience with this issue, or can extrapolate a theory from the symptoms and system environment I provided, you'll be my hero!! I'm not using any tweaking programs such as Rage or Riva, just Tyan's software. I only scored 13477, with card, and CPU overclocked!!! HELP.

Not sure if this would cause that problem, but did you remove all the old video drivers before you added the 9700Pro?
