Hi,

I purchased some corsair XMS memory thats rated at 2-3-3-6. I wanted to confirm these ratings so i opened up CPUz and the readout is CAS# latency 3.0 clocks, ras to cas 3 clocks, ras# precharge 3 clocks, cycle time 8 clocks.

Im wondering where i can view/edit these setings in my bios. I see an option "Change frequency for dimm" and theres choices like 1.33, 1.66, 2.0.... its set on auto... should i change this?

I have a p4 and my motherboard is gigabyte ga-8knxp with latest bios.

Go to the Frequency/Voltage Control menu in the BIOS and then press the Ctrl + F1 keys. A word of caution: your motherboard uses a chipset that doesn't like super-tight timings, and there's not much to gain by forcing them, so are you sure you want to do this? Don't say I didn't warn ya... ;)

Hmm....ok thanks i got to the correct menu. my only option was 2.5 not 2.0 like the memory is actually rated at. That seems weird. Anyway i got it running fine at 2.5. Any reason why i may not have that option?

Also in that menu i noticed my AGP aparture size is set to 128mb. I got a 6800GT and 1gb of ram is this the correct setting?

You could bump it up to 256, but you won't see much performance gain. May cause instability.
