Farewell GTi 🙁

I needed something that could hold more than a parapalegic midget in the backseat, as well as an automatic tranny, what better than the GTi's bigger, more refined brother the Passat!

It's a 2000 w/ 35.5k miles on it. Leather, 6 disk changer, cold weather package, ect. All I'm missing is power seat and moonroof...big whoop. The wheels suck too, but I can live with them...less chance of them getting stolen 😉

Oh...and the pics:

Domestic interiors ain't got nuthin on this. 😀 Oooh la la. Yeh, I know it's a wagon, but I'm comfortable with my "manliness" levels. hehe

Cupholders smupholders. Bah!

I don't drink and drive 🙂

Oh...and the 2001.5's were the ones with actually functioning cupholders.

So when are you and visgf (Is that how she spells it? lol) having kids to fill up the seats? 😉 Heehee

Kids? Uhhh... A long time.

I have to haul lots of stuff around for work, and I also am the offical chaufer(sp?) when my buddies come over for a weekend. Trying to stick a 6'2" 285 pound gorilla in the back of the GTi just wasn't cutting it.

<< Did you get a good deal?

Why not get the WRX Wagon?
>>

WRX wagon is too dinky. Back seat space is also non existant. It was also nearly 5k more than what my Passat cost by the time you tack on the automatic transmission. My wagon was only 20k.

Oh, I also wanted leather and the WRX's only have a very easily worn cloth on the seats.

Heehee I was just givin' ya a hard time. 🙂 Didn't you guys buy a house a year or so ago? How do you like it now?

Wtf dude?! Why not a WolfBerg Jetta?! Man those are nice 😉

Me and friend went 140 in his on the freeway :Q

Talk about sh!tting your pants...

I actually almost got one. In the end it came down to the space. The engines were both the 1.8liter turbo, only differences were the wheels, the sport suspension, and the size. Believe me though, the Passat is MUCH bigger.

Sweet ride dude!

Welcome to the small (but growing) group of VW owners.

You're gonna LOVE that car... 🙂

I can almost stick a jetta in the back end of my car 🙂

Not to mention the other activities that can go on in the back end of a volkswagen(gratuitous mallrats reference). And also, I agree, it's a night and day difference between the back seat of a Jetta and the back seat of a Passat.

Also, who's going to catch less attention...a bright red jetta scooting down the highway, or me in the subdued looking silver station wagon?

I thought so 😀

<< jhu
for a station wagon, i would've gone with a volvo v70 t5 or maybe the 2.4t
>>

The newer Volvos are quite crappy. Not that the old ones were any better, but atleast they had the "reputation" of being safer and generally reliable. No such USP in the newer Volvos, plus the reliablity is also sub-par. :disgust:
Also handling is quite bad. The T5 is best of the Volvos in terms of performance like 0-60 etc, but to deal with the torque-steer and not to mention the again absolutely crappy Volvo AWD system and relatively flacid chassis..

The V6 Passat just rocks, super-cool car. Good job buddy vi_edit 😎

Welcome to the club, VI! I love the wagon, wish I had one. I only have this:
My Passat

Ohhh you don't even know what the 30 valve V6 can do on the highway.
