and that should be a charge on nowitski for stepping on a player that was already there

Bah. He went for a layup. It isn't his fault that the opposing team's player is laying under the basket.

Rose took a SHOT from Najara's knee. Ouch.

I got a question about that....if he's down, why doesn't play stop since spurs had the ball? I mean, the guy has two trainers/personnel basically on the floor...why doesn't play stop?

He wasn't going for a layup. Well he TECHNICALLY was, but that had 'foul me' written all over it (I wish Willis could've been the one to dispense it.) The way these refs are calling it, a lane foul's a given.

SA chose not to foul. If they had fouled, they could have attended to their player immediately. I think it was a worse decision not to foul and get their player the attention he needed. The announced pointed this out also.

Actually.. that last play it was Nawitski who knocked Rose down and by chance he hit Najara's knee. So in essence... it was his fault. ;)

Rose FLOPPED on that play. he just didn't see najara behind him.

The SPURS SHOULD have called at Time Out WHEN they had the fvcking ball. AND they should have fouled BEFORE nowitzki drove the ball.

very classless action by spurs NOT stopping action for their own teammate.

they should have called the time out, they made scoring a priority OVER looking after their own player, to blame nowitzki for that is just cheap.

Nowitzki made a smart play by taking it right to the basket. I agree that it wasn't exactly the best sportsmanship, but sportsmanship in the NBA died 20 years ago.

:D I have to laugh because you said "D" and "Dallas" in the same sentence.

I definitely agree with you there. 20 years ago the Spurs would've pulled up (although it looked like they thought both players were about to get up) and Nowitzki would've taken the pull up jumper. Oh well. THat play's minutes old now.

It drifted out of sight for awhile and this was the only one visible on the front page at the time. Go post there if you like. We'll be posting another Matrix thread shortly too. :p

The game's been SO much more enjoyable the last few minutes now that the refs are letting them play. I'm pulling for the Spurs, but I'd rather see less whistles even if it means the Mavs make a run.

Interesting.

Even if Spurs win, they have to do something about blowing these big leads.

It's a nice problem to have though. ;)

If the Mavs hadn't shot free throws like they have, the lead wouldn've have been blown. This is the best free throw shooting performance by an entire team that I can ever remember seeing.
