Auditing: 88
BEC: 90
Financial: 75!!!!

75 is the minimum score to pass. I feel very lucky, especially since I had a lot of problems managing my time on the financial exam. Waiting on the last score and hopefully it's a high one.

I decided to get into accounting around this time last year, and passing the CPA will definitely be a big step towards that goal. Now I just need to get into a Big 4. :D

I was interested in preparing for my CPA on my own. Being able to truly and fully understand accounting principles would help me greatly in my ventures in the future in addition to the credibility it provides. Do you think it would be possible to study the CPA exam on my own, over the course of two years, or by taking part-time classes?

In general I'm a "smart" person so I can certainly understand the material. The question is whether you need a certain number of credit hours to sit for the exam.

Any advice appreciated.

How much do accountants make? (I'm assuming CPA is for accounting right? Or what other jobs can you get with it)

It sounds like a lot of work, almost in the league of lawyers, doctors, MBA business people. Do they pull in as much money?

Umm, IBM didn't buy PWC, they bought PWC's computer consulting arm (I think, it might have been HP).

If isn't Cap Gemini E&Y. Again, consulting does not equal the accounting firm. Just E&Y.

My ex-girlfriend has been working for Deloitte & Touche for about 6 years now. If she can get in and get a job I'm sure you shouldn't have any issues getting in there or the other top firms.

When I was first attending college I wanted to get in accounting but it always seemed quite boring. Sitting in a office or a cubicle for 8 or more hours a day was always unappealing to me. I guess it's different strokes for different folks.

good job by the way.

Congrats! I'd like to get the license too, but got other plans at the moment. I know my employer will reimburse me for the cost of taking the tests too

Congratulations! I'm taking FAR section this saturday, wish me luck! Good luck in landing a job, I know that there's a huge demand in audit now due to Section 404 work.

Good thing I'm already working for the Big 4, but they pressure you big time to pass the exam!

Anyway congrats again, it is a huge achievement and be proud!
