6 gigs yes, 8 gigs no (8 gigs = instability). STILL, 6 gigs is AWESOME! I'm saving up for a rev2.0 of the 15" Macbook and I'm very pleased to hear this
They're speculating that Snow Leopard might be able to see/use all 8 gigs - currently Leopard "sees" it but can't use it all and it causes all kinds of crazy problems. Personally I have 8 gigs of RAM on my desktop Mac and it's not nearly enough - I keep 2 VMs running 24/7 that take up 5 gigs total, plus do a lot of 3D Modeling and HD Video Editing (Motion anyone?), so I thought I'd put that out before anyone says "who the heck needs 6 gigs of RAM in a laptop"
