Yeah I'm definitely not interested in one of those chain pyramid type schemes, but this sounds a bit different because their testimonials included different people selling different products that they chose, I believe.

stay away. anything involving making money that has a seminar is a scam. I do ebay full time to fund my filthy little daytrading habit, and it's harder work than you might think. You don't need to go to a seminar to learn how to sell on ebay. If it was that easy, wouldn't everyone and their brother be doing it? I guarantee you they are going to ask you for an "investment" up front. And you'll make more money signing up other people to join the scam, rather than selling actual items. A portion of that "Investment" will go to the lady who signed you up, a nice commission for her.


TIPS ON SPOTTING MLM SCAMS

1. they talk about "unlimited earning potential", financial freedom, and all the other feelgood lines, without ever really discussing business facts.

2. theres no education/experience requirements

3. you are asked to pay a penny for ANYTHING - "background check", "processing fee", "demonstration set", "website setup", etc.

4. You are asked to sell to friends and family

5. There is a "residual income" plan enabling you to earn money even if you dont work

6. It is touted as the solution to all your prayers, financial problems, etc.

I most certainly am a whiner when it comes to the typical work schedule, if that's what you meant, and I wouldn't mind working a Dell/HP factory for a few shifts a week. But I think I'm a lot more down to earth than you lot that spend all of your time working for more useless sh!t than you can shake a stick at.

Daveymark you're probably right, the ticket to the crashcourse would be free in my case, but I wouldn't pony up anything else for further materials/instruction. I guess reselling is only for those with a significant amount to invest in bulk and then selling for profit. Unless there exists a promotional type deal where you could sell for a cut from the manufacturer without having to put money down on product?

I work in retail on the weekends and resell crap online during the week while im going to school.

What I pull in varies every month. I wouldn't make as much as I did if I didn't have the retail job on the weekends though. While there, I scan the system for clearanced deals I can turn a profit on.

Yeah I guess Daveymark hit the nail on the head, the fact that they give out two tickets to the people that sign up is probably where they try to get you.

The concept of work 1/3rd as much and make 1/3rd as much just isn't as easy as it sounds I suppose. I'll have to join the Geek Squad or somethin till I can open up my own shop one day.

that's exactly what it is. one of my uncles bought in hook, line, and sinker.

he started 12 years ago under amway, said he was gonna be making enough money off of this, that he would be able to quit his job and live off of his side job. he is still saying this, and still working fulltime in his regular job.

unless you are one of the scammers, you will not make that much money.

I was a gold powerseller on ebay back in 2004. $40k in sales, 10k in profit part time. It was an a**kicker so I stopped doing it, but its quite possible. The key is to have reliable wholesale lines of anything with a decent profit margin and little competition.

My worthless 😉 cousin has worked for himself since the early 1990s, now mostly designing and maintaining websites for small businesses. He used to beat the pavement for customers but now its mostly referrals. But he tried every MLM out there including traveling around the country selling perfume. The sad thing is he was salutatorian of his class in 1987 and had a scholarship to study EE.

Oh well....

Then you are not lazy, you just want to do what you want to do and nothing else. Start fixing computers on the side if that turns you on. I had a guy give me $100 for reloading all the software on his Dell. Easiest money I ever made.

Just curious what particular seminar/course this is. I've been to a lot of them (I specialize in writing sales copy headlines for split testing, I often speak at seminars).

I highly recommend that you leave ALL money, checks, credit cards, methods of payment at home. Except for the few bucks you'll need for essentials. These seminars/courses are run by people who are very very good at selling! You get caught up in the process and next thing you know, you're signing over your mortgage to get whatever it is they're selling.

It happens to me, and I'm in the business! Actually, it is a priceless opportunity to watch the process and follow the steps in the sales dance. I've learned a lot myself.

If something sounds really good, don't buy it - go home and think about it. Screw the "today only" discount - I haven't met a seminar salesperson yet who will insist you pay a higher price if you order in a day or two, regardless of what they say at the revival - er, seminar. Very few people do call back, and the ones that do turn out to be valuable customers. Actually, many seminars/courses will call YOU in a week or 2 and give you an even better offer.

There IS money to be made, but you won't do it. It's hard work.
