Cliff Notes:
Missed class for court
Now i don't know what's going on
book for class SUCKS

Arg - so I missed the secoind day of my Java class last week (I had to go with my sister to court for a hearing). ON the first day we did nothing but introduce ourselves, and then class ended. I though that it wouldn't be that hard to just read the first chapter to make up for my absence - WRONG. For some reason I don't understand ANYTHING in the first chapter of the stupid book, it's like reading greek 😕 Usually the first chapfter of a programming book goes over terminology and the basics of the program, but this book barely covers any of it. The fact that my school in using an outdated version of JBuilder, while the book is based on a much newer version doesn't help out at all 🙁 I just sat in class the third day feeling like a nimron because everyone around knew what the teacher was reviewing, and I didn't :frown:

ARG - tomorrow's the 4th day and I'm still clueless.

There are plenty of great tutorials online about Java. However it sounds like maybe you bit off a little more than you can swallow at the moment. Unless you're willing to spend like 30 min a night on it you're going to be hard pressed to keep up with java (if you've never programmed before). It's worth it to try and stick it out, but don't feel ashamed if you have to drop it.

I guess I'll search around. I didn't think it would be that hard since I got an A in my Visual Basic class, which was cake. I mean, just reading the book gave me a headache... 🙁 Unfortunatly, I can't drop it due to my scholarship, and the fact that the drop/add period is over.

I pushed a door that said pull today not once but twice on the same door.

Hope that makes you feel better.

I just feel like something is wrong. Ever the computer stupid people in the class (you know the kind - the ones that have trouble copying a floppy) seemed to be actively engaged in the lecture, and understood what was going on. 🙁
