When I pass my road test (June 30th), I will be receiving my father Mercury Marauder (bought February). He will be getting himself a new Marauder in Blue, and I will be getting the one he has now which is black. Just thought I would share this.

Wow, 4 or 5 posts, and not one real flame yet...I'm surprised.

Congrats. I'm trying to decide on when to discuss with my parents the issue of letting me lease a Grand Cherokee...should be interesting.

isn't a Marauder a little...big, for a young kid?

I would have loved to have a Marauder when I was a kid. Big, relatively powerful (although for how much it costs, I think you should get a whole lot more power), and something not all the kids have.

I actually like a big car rather than a SUV. My dad asked me when I firsted started driving whether I like cars or SUV's. At this point in my life I have no need for a SUV (although they are accomodating at times). I prefer a larger car for a few reasons. #1) It has more room (I am not a very skinny person), #2) Can bring friends when I need, #3) It looks nicer than a ricebox.

It has enough power (302 HP at the flywheel). And yes, no one at my school, or in my community for that matter has a Marauder (community is 30000+). Although, there are people with Vipers, Ferraris, Lamborghini's, etc...

Take your car to Kenny Brown and ask them to turn it into a Maruader S. Or actually, ask your dad to do that to his Maruader.

I was thinking about doing that later on, but not now. After I actually am driving it, and have had it I may do that.

Hey, I will be paying insurance, and was originally supposed to buy it. It was a surprise to me when I found out he was giving it to me. I have bought everything else I ever owned (well not clothes/education/food things like that, but personal things like comps phones, etc...) . I buy the majority of my things, unlike other who recevie everything.

First of all, its not 40000, it is 30000. Second of all, it has ~10000 miles on it, and by the time I get it it will have closer to 11000 (my dad drives back and forth to the city for work, and around the city looking at sites. He owns a rigging company and must look at the work sites prior). It is a new car, but it isn't a "new" car if you understand what I am saying.

wheeee, visit my town. :) At least a couple of Escalade EXTs in the parking lot...but that's not even that bad. As with all cities, we have private schools near here, where the worst car is a new Saab...the average SUV is the RX300/Range Rover Discovery...

ah well.
