I searched and didn't see this posted. Amd WILL be supporting DDR2 in '06 Socket Revision.
IMO, it would be stupid for AMD to add DDR2 to Single Core chips if the timings are as high as they are now. Especially if the FSB stays at 400mhz and the memory speed is 533mhz or something like that as the higher latency will definitely take away any of the already small performance gains that the higher bandwidth would give.
Dual core chips though, could very well get a decent 10% boost in performance with the extra bandwith. AMD said that with the shared memory bandwidth of todays Dual Core chips is killing performance about 10% or so. The increased bandwith of DDR2 could give back that performance loss. But I could very well be wrong.
I just wish they would skip DDR2 all together especially for single core chips.

Edit: A good thing though, is that Pacifica and Presidio will be included in the new Core - Socket Revision Cpu's.
