This thread in AoA Forums confirms that the 8RDA+ is running a locked PCI bus. He says he measured it using a PCI card that reads back the frequency of the bus. I don't know if he's full of sh*t or not. I guess we'll have to see

edit made the image a link since I can't seem to post images here

edit # 2 apparently "theforumisdown" doesn't like Anandtech forums, so if you click on the AOA forum link above or right Here it will take you to the thread where it was mentioned (about 3/4s down the page)

Yup, this whole PCI lock issue is quite odd. If only WCPUID was able to accurately measure PCI bus speed. That way, I just would've posted that such and such a board was running at a certain PCI bus speed and everyone would be happy. :)

I'll have to look into getting the right tools for measuring the PCI bus speed.

Hey Evan...if you can, would you be able to get a hold of this gadget which this gentleman used to prove that the Asus A7N8x does indeed lock the PCI bus?

it appears from the link at the AOA forums posted here by "DeAdLyDaVe" that the PCI lock is there.

seems to perform like it is; seen tests done on HDD performance to be nil effected by a raised FSB
