ok i will be doing light overclocking and light gaming i will probably running game at 1024x760 what do you guys think ? im trying to keep it under 1000 also im sticking with 1 stick of ram so it will be easier to upgrade later to 2 gigs i doubt i will notice that much of a difference if i get 2x512 mb and run em in dual channel
 
Seems good, but the motherboard has a discount for a 3.0ghz processor... Why not just stick with that?

And with the 6800GT most games will run fine at 1280*, as long as you don't beef up the AA too high.

any resoultion over 1024 the text gets really small in games and it kills my eyes ! i dont know how ppl do it hehe
i went with the 6800 gt for longevity it should last me a few years


hmm i was going to get a 3000 but the 3200 did fit my budget so i went with that
 
=X800xl does better in d3d performance than 6800gt, but your choice 🙂

the x800 xl is 275 for a extra 20 bucks i can get a 6800 gt 🙂 i rather have the 6800 gt i just never had any good luck with ati cards for some reason !

i was thinking of going corsair value ram i thought crucial was better ?
 
get a $40 Antec 3000blk case along with a 450W Fortron power supply for $50. it has massive 12V rails and the best reliability.

stick with Crucial. 1gb Crucial stick at a great price will allow you to upgrade another stick in the future. Crucial's memory is the best, its regular line and its Ballistix line. i have added a 512MB Crucial ram in my computer recently, it has been great.

Or you can get these 512 sticks, which are signle sided. Will allow you to upgrade to 1.5 GB easily, and maybe even 2GB if you get 2x more of the crucial 512. 1gb is good for performance when you upgrade to dual channel, but get 2x 512 if you want performance now 🙂.

if you want a nicer/quieter case, get the antec sonata II, it comes with an antec SmartPower2.0 450W PS instead of the SLK3000...almost same price

X800XL is the way to go. everything looks great though.
