Configuring MX510 for side button usage in games

I would like to use the two side buttons on my MX510 for walk and crouch in counterstrike but I can't figure out how to do so. Does not give me the option in configuration. Is there any way? Also want to do something similar for Unreal 2004 but I haven't tried yet.

Yes you can configure them but you have to do it this way. Assign say your left side button to a key that you don't use, like "F9" using the logitech software-their is a option to assign any keystroke in there. Then go into CS and assign "F9" as say crouch. Now when you press your side button it will crouch. You can do this to most of your buttons but only bad thing is when you use your side button to go back, say in web browsing, it won't work unless u reassign it to its default.

Have you tried installing the Advanced Settings Utility on the Logitech website? It gives you the option to turn on game detection. Read the link to "Using the MouseWare Advanced Settings Utility" on how to add games for detection.

I can map the side buttons on my MX700 without any trouble in CS and with other games while keeping it set to Forward and Back while in desktop.

Worked like a charm, thanks!
