Configuring Fusetalk to require email visibility to post in FS/FT?

I was visiting another Fusetalk site today and before it let me post to their FS/FT forum, it prompted me that my email needs to be made visible before it'd let me continue. I didn't think it was possible to set such properties in Fusetalk on a category-by-category basis but I guess I was wrong.

It seems like more than a few of the first posts to a FS/FT thread, especially ones started by new traders, are to point out the "enable your profile, visible email" rule. Would it be possible (or even welcome?) to have such a requirement in AnandTech's FS/FT?

It would be a good idea for all the forums. Trolls dont just visit the FS forum. Maybe we would see fewer offensive posts made by idiot trolls if they had to reveal thier email addy and profile. IMHO

it would be a good idea for the fs/ft forum, but i don' t think so for the entire forums as i have been getting random junk mail to my account recently and since i have never sent my name elsewhere it has to be coming from someone picking it up off the board... (obviously they go after those people but it still happens occasionally...)

There was a problem with that about two weeks ago. Someone signed up, harvested a ton of email addresses, and spammed us all.

I guess I'm in the majority in not making profile/email visibility mandatory for all categories, just FS/FT (at least, for now).
