Configure router as Access Point

Hi
I have two routers and I know I have to change the APs IP to match the other one, but can I change the IP of the router that is NOT going to be the AP to match other, if so how do I configure it?

If you want to use a router as an access point, here is what you need to do:

1) Login to the router and set a static IP address (must be different from main router, you can't have two devices on the same network with same IPs), subnet and gateway (IP of first router).

2) Configure your wireless settings however you would like.

3) Disable DHCP on the router that will be the access point.

4) Plug a network cable into one of the LAN ( not WAN) ports on the router that will be the access point.

Yes you can change the core iP of the main Router.

Just make sure that if there are computers with static IP or IP resesvation that you tune every thing to the new router's IP/Gatway.

In general.
