Assuming I buy all parts from Newegg, configure me 3 workstations that should satisfy demanding 3D modelling, video editing and rendering. Note: this is an area where Intel Xeons perform best regardless of price so no AMD please even though I'm an AMD man myself : ) Price isn't much of an issue although I'd like to stay within reasonable realm. Stability and dependability under stress is key.

Basic requirements:

Intel P4 or Dual Xeon
2GB memory with room for later upgrades
120GB or so of SCSI storage. Absolutely NO IDE/SATA. End of discussion.
Server level case and PSU.
Video card nvidia based only. No ATI. Can be standard consumer based card or CAD level card.

Any other suggestions I'm open to.

Configure 3 boxes of varied price ranges.

Dual Xeon (fastest you can afford)
Mem = Crucial
Quadro 3000 if you need the power, lower end quadro if you dont.

I'm no expecrt in the 3D field, but how about you let us all in on whatever software you're planning on using? That way people who have actually used it might give you an oppinion?

Max, Maya, Premiere, After Effects and the usual Photoshop, Illustrator and other office stuff. But I know for a fact from experience that Xeons dominate in the main applications hence my choice. It's for serious workstation use.
