I just built a new computer and everything runs fine..... but when it gets to the Win XP loading screen with that little green moving bar at the bottom it kinda delays for a bit then a blue screen comes up saying I have a hardware problem or configuration problem. It tells me to run check disk, and check all configuration and whatnot and i did and it all looks good. Could it be something in the BIOS i missed?

BTW - this harddrive was on my older computer and I didnt format or anything... i just left it as it was

Setup; if it helps at all:
256 Meg Crucial
Athlon xp 2600+
pci voodoo3
ASUS A7N8X-X motherboard

thanks,
-mat

You may try to boot up to Windows XP CD and then go to repair and chkdsk /r. I know you said that you already ran chkdsk but did you put the /r after it?

I cant get to a command prompt..... and i dont have my xp cd right now... how could I go about making a bootdisk?
