Config file for XP desktop settings

Well, I'm bored at work, everyone's on a domain and their C$ share is out there so I'd like to know where the heck I find the desktop settings file to change background images, etc. Please don't tell me desktop.ini either. . . it's not there.

Right click on the desktop and click properties . You can then make your changes.

I'm talking about changing settings remotely through editing a file and not using remote desktop.

It's probably in the registry, ask the domain admins for access.

Those settings are definitely in the registry. prochobo sounds like a high schooler...
 
Yes, they are in the user's own registry under their software tree. I bet you'd love to know how to change things there. 🙂
